Last Words

I’ve got no more cards to play
All my hearts are on my sleeve
I’ve got nothin’ else to say
Nothin’ you’d believe anyway

That would ease the pain of feeling no pain

I’ve got no more memories
They’re all up on a shelf
Manufactured ghost stories
I tell the younger versions of myself

To ease the pain of feeling no pain

You don’t have to write any more wrongs
And I don’t have to feel any more hurts
‘Cause I will sing my last songs
And you can have your last words.

I've got nowhere else to go
So I'll just lay here a while
Talk is so much easier, I know
Than walking when you're down to your last mile

But just because its easy doesn't make the pain worthwhile

I’m sorry that you can’t feel my love
I’m sorry that I can’t feel any shame
I’m sorry that I left your hope bereaved
At least you'll always have me left to blame.
